In the proseminar we will look into the needs and expectations of the target recipients of audio description (AD), the features of the language of AD (both in Polish and English), as well as cohesion and coherence in an AD script. We will also try to answer the question whether translating AD from English into Polish (or vice versa) is a feasible undertaking and if it is possible to reflect filmic techniques in AD. We will also discuss the major AD research trends and delve into the concepts of universal design and accessible filmmaking.
