The first part of the proseminar will be devoted to the discussion of the key concepts of personality psychology. In particular, we will examine the main approaches to personality and the methods used in psychology to measure various personality characteristics. We will then look into the translator as the main agent in the translation process and product, and the ways in which Translation Studies can combine forces with psychology in order to investigate the concept of translator's personality.
