The objective of the course is the overall development of students’ writing skills in such a way as to promote logical thinking and encourage students to develop their own writing style with emphasis on such qualities as relevance, precision, unity and coherence. During the course we will focus on how to develop logical lines of reasoning and, how to support ideas with solid evidence The students will learn to recognize typical logical fallacies and use rhetorical devices according to the text purpose. On the formal level, they will practise the construction of an argumentative essay. The course will also aim at improving your academic vocabulary, style, and grammar proficiency. The course will also provide practice in summary writing.
