This phonetics course is a continuation of the course in 1BA. The second year is dedicated to teaching suprasegmental aspects of casual speech, as well as improving articulation and fluency. We will address the issue of rhythm and intonation and its functions. Necessary emphasis will be placed on students’ pronunciation of individual sounds (consonants, vowels) as a review of the first year learning American English pronunciation.
