The aim of the course is to raise awareness of language as a tool for translators as well as to create understanding of professional standards in written translation. Language is the material with which we work as translators. Using language efficiently is in our best interest and this means being aware of its limits and our own potential pitfalls. An overarching aim of the course is to inspire us (yet again:) to think critically about the way language works and the way we can learn to use it efficiently and effectively when we translate.
