This is an obligatory course for 2BA teaching specialization. Aims of the course: to equip students with the knowledge of approaches, methods and techniques in language teaching; to promote creative use of the theoretical knowledge in practice; to introduce students to lesson planning, teaching skills, techniques and practical classroom procedures; to encourage a creative approach to the process of language teaching; to encourage self-development through active participation in the course and reading current TEFL books and materials; to develop a reflective approach to teaching; to equip students with the knowledge of how to consciously integrate skills, subjects and materials within the teaching process; to encourage students to promote learner and teacher autonomy in the process of language learning and teaching; to develop students’ awareness of elements within the curriculum. Contents: methods in language teaching; classroom management; lesson planning; teaching grammar; teaching vocabulary.
