The aim of the course in PNJA grammar is not only to increase students’ language awareness but also to develop the ability to distinguish between the form and use of the English language. Therefore, seen from the long-term perspective, grammar instruction in the second year of the BA program involves reviewing the knowledge of the English grammar students already have and filling in the gaps in order for them to acquire a thorough mastery of the English language at the advanced level of competence.
