The main aim of the course is to familiarize students with the necessary knowledge to effectively make use of information technology in everyday life. The course will be divided into five meetings:

  1. Operating systems (Microsoft Windows, OS X, Linux-based systems)
  2. Hardware (motherboards, processors, RAM, graphic cards, types of computers)
  3. Cloud computing (Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive)
  4. E-learning (facts and statistics, future of education, online tools in the EFL classroom)
  5. Final test + extra topic of your choice (the extra topic will not occur in the final test)

During the meetings, students will be presented with an overview of the above-mentioned concepts (including discussion about the strengths and weaknesses of various ideas and solutions). Students' grades will depend on in-class participation, three homework assignments, and the results from the final test, which will take place after all the theoretical concepts have been discussed.
