●Two overarching aims:
–Looking at politics of (communication in) the EU through language (CDA
perspective)
–Looking at the role of language and communication in EU politics
●‘Communication in the EU’ is a course which from the point of view of
discourse studies addresses the problem of political communication and
communication in institutions and organisations.
●The main focus is placed on the European Union, therefore, the course
begins with a discussion of developments and transformations within the realms
of the EU.
●Hence, the general aim of the course could be characterised as
transferring knowledge on the role of language and communication both in the
realms of politics and public sphere.
