The course in an updated version of our previous History of English course (lecture + tutorial). The course covers formal aspects of the history of English, from its Proto-Indo-European roots until Present Day English (phonology, morphology, lexicon, external history), with an emphasis on working with text and contextualizing the topics that the class covers.
