This seminar will focus on the status and features of Native Canadian literatures discussed against the background of Canadian multicultural literature. Topics to be discussed include the history and specificity of indigenous literatures in Canada, their grounding in indigenous cultures, and the role of indigenous writers as storytellers in the context of contemporary indigenous communities.
