"Teaching English as a foreign language" is a practice-oriented course for those students who have selected the teaching specialization. The course content includes topics related to English language teaching (ELT) at primary and secondary school levels. The participants will get familiar with the notion of individual differences in ELT, the premises behing communicative language teaching, basic principles of classroom management, planning lessons, and techniques of teaching the subsystems (grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation) and the four communicative skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing).

The main objective of the EFL Writing course is to equip graduate students with the skills indispensable to the process of MA thesis writing, such as constructing coherent paragraphs, using required academic style, formulating varied sentences, reviewing the literature, etc. The course is in its nature supplementary to MA seminars by teaching to the students how to handle the technical and linguistic aspects of their academic writing. A more general aim of the course is also to convince the students that through communicating their ideas and knowledge properly they became a vital part of the scientific community.
